VW Passat R36: the lowdown
Volkswagen has pulled the wraps off its 'R' flagship Passat – and the five-door is the fastest estate VW has ever made. Scooped by CAR Online a few weeks back, the R36 puts out 296bhp, which launches the estate fromk standstill to 62 in 5.8sec. Available as a saloon, too, the R cars go on sale in early 2007, with prices starting at an estimated £28,000.
Alpine A110-50 tease video
Ahead of a reveal tomorrow in Monaco, Renault has released a teaser video of the Alpine A110-50. The other day we reported what appeared – at least on the face of it – to be a leaked photo of the new Alpine A110-50, the first new Alpine from Renault in many a year. And we weren’t convinced.
Students of Coventry University's Automotive and Transport Design course are getting ready for their annual degree show, dubbed ‘Discover ID'. Already the largest show in Europe, this year's exhibition will be the biggest ever, with 107 BA and MDes students showcasing their design talents. Aside from automotive projects, the exhibition will feature projects including two full-size motorcycles, a Rolls-Royce yacht, a Pacific cruise airship and arctic tourism vehicles.
